Serviceberries line the entrance drive into the community off of Deerfield Road. In addition to focusing the attention on the distant copse of existing hardwoods, they also screen the view of the Christmas tree fields on either side. Although usually attractive, Christmas tree plantings also go through phases where the landscape is one of brush piles and stumps.
The serviceberry are seen here in full bud, ready to pop into full bloom, in April. This photo was taken 8-10 years following installation. Hemlocks in the foreground provide a year round, evergreen frame of the view.
